Sunday 22nd March - Mothering Sunday

A message from Rev Martin Kirkbride, a copy of what would have been our Sunday Service and should you wish to follow along with the Archbishop of Canterbury's service will be emailed out to all church members. Should you wish to receive this and are not currently on our email list, please email stgeorgesoffice@gmail.com

A Thought For Today

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1

Whilst all church services and mid-week meetings are suspended there are still lots of online opportunities for us to fellowship together and continue in worshipping God. There are numerous first-class online resources that you can discover and log onto. In particular there are four that I want to recommend:

*live streaming and video on our diocesan website www.bathandwells.org.uk

* The Sunday Service, led by Archbishop Justyn Welby, on the Church of England website) www.churchofengland.org

*HTB (Holy Trinity Brompton) live streaming of Sunday Services and other resources, (Check their website for times etc.) www.htb.org

* and of course our own website, plus these ‘Thought for Today’ posted daily here on our Facebook page

In addition to these there are the usual, and now some additional church programmes being broadcast on the main TV channels. Not all of our friends, family, or neighbours have access to social media or online. Although we may not be able to make personal contact at resources present, we do have the wonderful resources of telephones, mobiles, and the good old-fashioned mail – do please think of those who would value a call

The prophet Isaiah reminds us that ‘Though the mountains be shaken

and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken

nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you’.
