Thought For Today : Matthew 16:13-15

13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” 14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

But who is he, this Jesus who poses the question, who is he ?

He is the one who existed before when or where the one who co-created the entire universe who took a ball of helium and hydrogen and placed it in the sky

He is the one who scripture anticipated down through 42 generations Mary’s Child the one who taught like a wise scholar at the age of 12 who at the age of 30 was baptized by his cousin John the one who walked this earth for 33 years

He is the one who turned water into wine the one who opened the eyes of the blind who freed people of demonic oppression who enabled the mute the speak the death to hear, the lame to walk.

He is the one we mocked, whipped and spat at The one who hung on a cross the one who gave his life for us He is the one who died, was buried, and rose again the one who sends his holy Spirit

He is the one who loves you, gave himself for you, and is for you. the one who will be yours if you will be his

Let me tell you what he is to me: He is the saviour of my soul my bread when I’m hungry my water when I’m thirsty my friend when I’m friendless my healer when I’m sick

He is my defence when I’m in trouble my calm when I’m in the storm my anchor when I’m drifting my hope when I’m in despair my freedom when shackles threaten He is my yesterday, my today, my tomorrow,

Who do you say he is?
