Thought For Today

‘Oh Lord our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth , You have set your glory in the heavens‘ -these words from Psalm 8 lead us into a magnificent reflection of knowing something of the glory of God, our creator, and the wonder of his creation. Then in the midst of relating the amazement of His creation, the psalm goes on to highlight the incredible value and responsibility God has put upon humanity.

Humanity – me and you, men and women, old and young, teenagers and children, black, white, people of every tongue and nation, no-one excepted, no-one unincluded. It emphasises His love for all of us, so much so that the palmist is left rhetorically wondering, ‘what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? – that you crown them with glory and honour’

Please, amidst all the present challenges and difficulties, remember this incredible truth, you are wonderfully made and unconditionally loved by God. You are loved just as you are! You can never do anything to make him love you more. You can never do anything that will make him love you less. You are totally and unconditionally loved by God. You are created to know that and to live in the eternal security of a relationship with your creator.

Human significance is not in what we can make, our significance is in the one who made us.
