STAY AND PLAY
at St George's
What is Stay & Play?
"Stay&Play” is a friendly, relaxed group of Mum’s, Dad’s, Grandparents, carers and their babies and pre-schoolers, who meet in St George’s Church Hall.
We get together to have a chat and refreshments, let the children have a fun, relaxed playtime, with a simple craft, and some singing and dancing too!
When Is Stay & Play?
We meet Wednesday mornings from 9.30 - 11.15 in term time, in St George’s Church Hall.
How do I join?
Just come along! No need to sign up beforehand, just come to the Hall and you’ll be most welcome. It only costs £3 per family to cover the costs of refreshments, craft supplies and our donations to charities. We provide a healthy snack for the children and homemade cake and real coffee for the adults.
Do I have to come every week?
Not at all. There is no pressure to come each week, just come when you can! We know how hectic lives can be with babies and pre-schoolers so we are here to help whenever you can come!
Do you do anything additional to the Wednesdays ?
At Christmas the children get really excited as we have a visit from Father Christmas when the children receive an inexpensive gift (provided by Stay and Play). Also in December we have a Christmas celebration in the church with stories, songs and craft.
At Easter we have another service in Church with stories, songs and crafts.
In the last session before the Summer holidays, we go to Vivary park to play on the apparatus, with the games equipment and to enjoy a picnic.
Can I park at the Hall? There is some space for parking around the hall, but it is limited to about 5 spaces. Please try not to obstruct others or in case of emergency, access for Emergency Services vehicles. If you cannot park next to the hall there is a pay and display car park next to Vivary park, 5 minutes walk away which is very reasonable
